The project framed entomophagy, the practice of eating insects, within conversations around environmental justice, food sovereignty, and climate equity, positioning Smithsonian Channel’s Bug Bites web series within sustainable food systems.
The experiential launch turned hesitation into playful participation through a progressive tasting journey beginning with “Gateway Bugs,” an introduction using cricket flour pastries, followed by blind tastings and a final tarantula tasting. Gallery-style fact walls drawn from the series were integrated throughout the venue, serving as educational content and photo moments inspired by Smithsonian exhibition design.
I developed the visual identity for the Bug Bites campaign, extending it into an immersive pop-up exhibition series and digital content to create a cohesive public-facing world. The identity and motion system also introduced episodes across Smithsonian Channel video content, ensuring consistent recognition across broadcast and experiential platforms.
